Special
issue on European Biophysics Journal
|
Dear all, as we
already announced one month ago there will be a Special Issue of European
Biophysics Journal devoted to collect original contributions from PAW2007 and
NIB 2007 workshops. The submitted papers will be eventually published after
peer review. The title of the Special Issue will be:
'Advanced
neutron scattering and complementary techniques to study biological systems.'
Also thanks
to the combined contributions from PAW2007 and NIB 2007 we believe that the
Issue will have a great impact in the biophysical field. You will
find more details on the online submission procedure on the
SUBMISSION WEB PAGE
An identifyer saying "Neutrons in biology" will be inserted as soon
as possible on the submission page. The deadline for paper submission is 30
September.
Best
regards

Few
words about this
successful workshop…
The workshop PAW2007,
“Proteins At
Work 2007”,
was held at the Giò Hotel in Perugia, Italy,
from 28th
to 30th May.
The main goal of
the meeting was to review the state-of-the-art and to investigate the
potential
of advanced neutron scattering techniques for the study of structure
and
dynamics of biomolecules at close to physiological conditions. In
addition to
its importance in fundamental science, understanding the structural and
dynamical features of biological and biological-related systems has
become
crucial for applications in the biotechnological, pharmaceutical and
medical
fields. PAW2007 succeeded in bringing together neutron biophysicists,
biologists,
chemists, medical doctors and engineers to present and discuss their
results
and to share new developments in the methods. About 80 scientists from
Europe, Australia,
Israel
and the USA,
attended the event.
A very lively scientific
atmosphere was
perceived during the Workshop and all the participants wished there
will be
another opportunity to meet again in the same
“environment”…perhaps PAW2009?
We will inform as soon as
possible all the
participants about the deadline and the procedure for the paper
submission to
EBJ.
